Is ADHD on the rise in children and/or adults?

The rate of ADHD referrals has risen enormously in the last few years across many countries. However, the population prevalence has not. Multiple research studies suggest that whilst administrative prevalence rates of ADHD have risen, the population prevalence has not.

In this campfire we will discuss what the evidence shows and what might be the reasons for the rise in ADHD referrals. We also will discuss what strategies might policy makers and clinicians adopt to manage this rise.
